As we are coming home for my plastic surgeon we passed the Steiner I think it's in Wayne and we just wanted a quick bite to eat we were only presented with breakfast menu but I had asked for a bowl of Matzoh ball soup and she said we have that I'll bring you one right out I thought that was awesome I wasn't in the mood to eat but my mum had ordered some French toast that really did look delicious and I had one pancake half Half the soup Our waitress was very sweet and pleasant her name was Janice She wasn't a phoney waitress she was actually the kind of waitress that you want to talk to and be friends with she complimented me on how beautifully I was healing it was weird because she knew that I had had some plastic surgery done I just had the plastic and metal splint taken out and I had had a lot of Staples as well so I'm sure she caught it because I was turning with my shoulders and my neck but she was very nice to talk to you it's a small diner it's a nice little pit stop if you are shopping or just wanna go out to breakfast with a friend or your family I can't imagine it being my usual place because it's so far away but it definitely wasn't bad and they make a really good Matzoh Ball

I've been a fan of this place since it opened, regardless of the fact that it's changed owners a couple times. With the previous owner, things started to go downhill and I think they lost a lot of clientele because of it. As far as I'm aware, they didn't really do a great job advertising when they went under new management (I knew because the menu changed). This being said, Monarch is better than ever. The wait staff is friendly and competent. The food is delicious and the menu is vast (your traditional diner food with a couple of innovative dishes here and there). The owner is such a peach- friendly from start to finish. They also have online ordering (and were on grubhub for a while, not sure if they still are). Definitely a great alternative to the always packed Pompton Queen.

Really like this diner. Positives: delivers, inexpensive, clean, friendly wait staff, good food Negative: used to be open 24/7, but with new management I think they close at 11? Still a good restaurant.
